Rules:
♦ It can only be used once and is consumed on use
♦ These paints can be anything, but they must not be personally, historically or sexually offensive, must adhere to the PG-13 content rules and can not be copyrighted material.
♦ Paint Dye can be anything from an intricate symbol to just a blob or just a line, just so long as it doesn't mimic markings
♦ Paint dye is an incredibly flexible item and while there are "size limits" they are quite relaxed due to the wide variety of symbols that can be applied
♦ Paint Dye can apply up to three small symbols on your Vayron, but a single large symbol will consume an entire paint dye

Due to Paint Dye allowing such a large variety of symbols on a Reosean there are guidelines for size when applying the item. Generally speaking, the symbols applied must not be too large for one Paint Dye. You can stack multiple Paint Dyes to create a large symbol so long as it is broken up into different symbols - this means that you can achieve a collection of symbols by using more than one Paint Dye item. An Example of this can be seen to the right:
The White is an example of one large painted symbol and the blue being an example of up to three smaller symbols. This edit would consume x2 Paint Dyes The sizes up top and in the PSD are a general guideline for the area that your paint dye can cover. What this means is that you do not have to keep your symbol to the size of the circles' boundaries, but it can cover the area of the circle. |
It's important to remember that Paint Dye, while quite flexible cannot extend markings or mimic markings! One of the most popular additions of paint dye is to add paint dye that can be mistaken for markings, such as a splash of white on the face that can be mistaken for Minimal White, or stripes on the body that can be mistaken for glinted Stripes or Tabby. In most cases, those would be denied because it is simply too similar to the actual marking, but, what you could do to legalize an otherwise illegal Paint Dye edit is to make sure it is obviously paint! This can be done by giving the edges a frayed look or even a slight fade so that it looks painted on! It's important to note that Paint Dye can NOT fade out entirely! The example on the side shows a perfect way to do it- while it could be initially mistaken for a Tribal Tabby, the fraying and the texturing makes it look entirely made of paint instead! |
Paint Dye will also never be able to extend a marking, or make a marking appear different than it is allowed legally.
For example, on the right is an example of striped and an example of how one could have tried to edit Paint Dye to make it appear like the striped is branching out more. This would count under illegally extending stripes. The only way to fix this and to make it appear like it is not extending stripes, is to give the Paint Dye stripes different colours, an added texture- as seen above- or to remove it entirely. Below that is another example of trying to expand the range. In this case, the Reosean has Cheeky- and the user is trying to use Paint Dye in order to extend the range of it onto the jaw. It is an illegal Paint Dye edit because Paint Dye should not extend a marking, and one should be able to tell it apart from a marking on the Reosean. In this case, the Paint mimics the Dominant effect of Cheeky, when the Reosean only has the recessive gene. As with above, changing the colour and adding a texture could resolve this issue and make it a legal edit. |
Restrictions:
♦ Paint Dye must not mimic markings/carriers or carry on a marking/carrier into an illegal zone. It must not be used as a design approval loophole!
♦ Paint Dye allows for two colours per use. This can stack to a total of six colours maximum on a single Reosean.
♦ While Paint Dye can fade slightly to mimic the fading of paint, it can NOT fade entirely as that is a feature most markings have.
♦ You cannot have more than 10 paint dyes on a single import
♦ Colours can be blocky or a gradient inside your paints/symbols
♦ Paint Dye can only be used on the body and light grey areas on the tail - it cannot be used on the mane or dark grey of the tail
